Our Wedding (part 2)

Because June is our anniversary month, I have been blogging about some of our favourite moments & details from our big day (you can see part 1 here).  Today I’m sharing some photos of us getting ready the morning of the wedding.  You really do get spoiled on your wedding day, and it was so much fun spending the first half of the day with my amazing girlfriends.

Finding my wedding dress was quite a journey.  I knew I wanted to wear lace and I wanted the dress to be a full ball gown (there just aren’t enough ball gown occasions in a 21st century girl’s life!) but I just couldn’t find what I was looking for.  Because we had a long engagement, I knew I had a little extra time and I decided to wait until after bridal fashion week so I could see next season’s dresses.

I remember watching the Enzoani fashion show online and seeing my dress walk down the runway.  As soon as I saw it, I knew it was the one.  The only thing was I would have to wait months for the sample dresses from their new collection to be shipped before I could try it on.

I waited, and waited for the dress to become available to try on at a local bridal boutique, until finally I got the call that their samples were in!  I tried it on and instantly I knew it was the dress.  We were ready to purchase it when the Lore, the owner of Bliss Bridal, asked me when my wedding was.  She looked concerned when I told her my wedding was in June and quickly made a call to Enzoani to find out when they could get the dress here.   Unfortunately, they didn’t have good news and the dress wouldn’t make it in time for my wedding.

I was so sad and left the bridal shop in tears.  But the next day I got a call from Lore, who had made a bunch of calls and was able to locate the exact dress I wanted, in my size and the right colour, at one of Enzoani’s warehouses!  I was so incredibly happy that I could have my dream dress!    Lore went over and above with helping me find my dress, and I definitely recommend making an appointment at Bliss if you are a Winnipeg bride!
