We Day Manitoba Recap!
This past Monday, I got the chance to experience my first We Day! If you've never experienced one before, don't worry, I'll give you a quick recap! Basically, We Day is a giant celebration inspiring youth to make a change in the world & in their own communities. Between hearing from famous music artists to local activists, the whole event is designed to not only inspire youth but also give practical ideas on how they can make a difference in the world around them.
In a fun campaign (that I talked about before here!), Telus, a long time partner of We Day, teamed up with music artist Francesco Yates. Together they created a remixed version of his song "Call" to inspire Canadians to accept the call to change the world. During We Day, Francesco preformed live along with the newly remixed music video. It was so neat to see tons of Canadian youth singing & dancing along to the social anthem in the context of such an inspirational event.
Technology gives us the power to change the world like never before. It gives people a voice, an audience and can help to amplify messages of positive social change. In fact, something as small as a single social media post can start a ripple that has the power to change lives. Every time someone shares the remixed "Call" video with the hashtag #callforchange, Telus will donate $10 to Free the Childern! Why not make your next status update one that will make a difference in the world?
As a generation, we are powerful and we can truly change the world if we choose to. Will you accept the call for change?
