On our third day in Paris we explored la Rive Gauche. We started the day off by grabbing some coffee & fresh (almond) croissants on the way to la Cathedrale Notre-Dame. I actually never watched the Hunchback of Notre Dame when I was little, so my sister and I streamed it on Netflix right before we left. Although I know it's only a cartoon, it was so neat to recognize spots from the movie, including spotting the gargoyle Hugo on the roof! We also walked up to the top of the bell towers (on the tiniest winding staircase!) which gave us an amazing view of Paris. Afterwards, we spent the rest of the afternoon wandering through le Jardin Luxembourg, then stopped to eat crepes at la Creperie!
Ps. In case you missed it, here are the links to the first two days of our Paris adventure! Day one - Our trip to Versailles and Day two - Exploring Le Marais. I've also shared some more pictures of our trip to Paris (including some candid iPhone snaps!) over on Facebook if you want to check it out ;)
Before I left for my trip, I stopped in to see Nevena for a manicure. She did an amazing job of creating a unique graphic design on each nail using burgundy, gold and clear polish to create a negative space effect!
Today's Outfit: Faux fur infinity scarf (c/o Shop Zyania) + Zara wool cape + Black Steve Madden over the knee boots (last season's)
So I have been wanting to buy a grey trench coat for a while, and was searching everywhere in Paris to try and find one. After finally spotting one, I tried it on, only to be told by my husband it looked "cheap" (to be fair, it really was cheap but I was hoping I could pull it off anyways haha!). Anyways, I was feeling pretty disappointed that I couldn't find what I was looking for, but then I stumbled upon this amazing cape at Zara!
Until then, I don't think I'd actually ever bought something from Zara (we definitely don't have a store anywhere near Winnipeg... never mind every two blocks like in Europe!) but this cape is so beautiful in person and is surprisingly well made. The wool is super soft to the touch and the detailing is beautiful! Perfect for a chilly day in Paris.
The fur scarf I'm wearing (from Shop Zyania) was pretty much on repeat for the entire trip. I looked back through my photos when editing, and just now realized how often I layered this scarf over my outfit for a little extra warmth & some cute texture! But hey, when you find something that works... ;)
