A Little Bit of Gratitude // via Miami Florida

As a fashion blogger living in the middle of Canada, it's easy to get frustrated by the limitations the weather can at times put on our clothing choices.  Winter often means bundling up in more layers than we thought possible and sometimes style gets scarified in exchange for warmth (you can only look so cute when exposed skin freezes in less than a minute!)
My trip to Miami though, helped me gain a little bit of perspective and appreciation for our crazy weather. Even though each of our four seasons are extreme, I'm grateful that here in Manitoba we get to experience the highs and lows of all four.  As I walked through the streets in Miami, part of me felt sad for the locals who really don't get the chance to experience different seasons.  I can see how cute winter trends like flannel, fur and cozy knits are just not practical when it always feels like summer.
So with that, this outfit is dedicated to all those ladies who live where winter feels like an eternal summer. I had planned to wear this outfit with some opaque tights and closed toed shoes but decided to modify it to better suit the Miami heat.  Instead of my original plan, I opted to wear the outfit with bare legs, open toed shoes and rolled up sleeves to keep cool.  What do you think?  What are your best tricks for dressing with the weather in mind?
